Injustice towards Anu Malik (true list of copied/inspired songs)

I feel the need to post my list of his copied/inspired works. People out there think he’s a blatant lifter and unoriginal, even though he’s made over 1000 original songs, and at least half of them are amazing! So here Goes:

Freemakes (legally or illegally):

1.  Virasat     Payalein Chunmun Chunmun (duet)     Kumar Sanu, Chitra      more

- this is original work, he used the humming from the original and re-did the music. This is amongst his best works. Illyraja has nothing to do with it. only dumb illyraja fans try to make it into something it’s NOT.

2.  Virasat     Payalein Chunmun Chunmun (female)   Chitra      more

3.  Sooryavansham     Dil Mere (female) Chitra      more

4.  Sooryavansham     Dil Mere (male- part 1) Kumar Sanu  more

5.  Sooryavansham     Dil Mere (male- part 2) Kumar Sanu  more

6.  Khushi      Jiya Maine Jiya   Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan (this is legal, boney kapoor bought the rights)

5.  Jawab (1995)      Yeh Dil Mein Rehnewale (part 1)(part 2)(
Part 3)(Part 4)   Kumar Sanu  Sadhna Sargam Mohammed Aziz Bela Sulakhe    – technically one song sung 4 times.

Songs that are not composed by Anu Malik, but is given mis-credit:

1.  Gambler     Meri Marzi  Devang Patel

Gambler     Stop That   Devang Patel

1.  Murder      Kaho Na Kaho      Amir Jamal

2.  The Gentleman     Aashiqui Mein Had Se    Vinod Rathod, Sadhna Sargam   more

3.  The Gentleman     Chik Pika Rika Boom Bole      Suresh Peters     more

4.  The Gentleman     Jhoomke Dil Ne    S. P. Balasubramaniam, Chitra more

5.  The Gentleman     Roop Suhana Lagta Hai   S. P. Balasubramaniam, Chitra

We all know ARR is the true composer, and anu malik had nothing to do with these freemakes and they are just labelled as anu so they could get away with it. He didn’t even touch the songs. This is a common misconception by trolls. Why on earth would the SAME SINGERS FOR THE ORIGINAL SONGS, RE-SING THEM BLATANTLY FOR ANU? Stupid bigots out there!

6.  Krishna     Jhanjhariya (female)    Alka Yagnik

7.  Krishna     Jhanjhariya (male)      Abhijeet

Baazigar    Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen Kumar Sanu, Anu Malik (the tune is inspired by the mandolin song (just the yeh kaali kaali aakhein line… and the music is lifted in some areas from A Cover Girl’s song, but it’s more original than lifted)

Daraar      Yeh Pyar Pyar Kya Hai   Abhijeet, Kavita Krishnamurthy

(this one is CRAZY! The tune is directly lifted from Yaar Yaar Kehna in the mukhdra, and the music is lifted (the intro) in portions from that 2 Unlimited song! Great song tho, but I like to think of it as a remix)

Such injustice towards this man….

About desimusicfanatic

I am 20 years old. I love bollywood music from 1990s till now. I am a die hard fan of Anu Malik, Viju Shah, Nadeem Shravan, Jatin Lalit, Anand Milind, and A.R Rahman. However I love songs from all composers.

…most of the songs that Anu Malik lifted appeared to be on Producers’ demand. His chalu songs like that in Judwa are on script demand. And one more point his singing is often mocked at (even I am not appreciative of it) but some of his ‘masala’ hits are in his own voice….remember ‘ek garam chai ki pyali ho, or, lift teri band hai’…talking of versatility!

    • Yeah I’m no fan of his voice. Lol
however I love his inspired tracks (like where a couple of lines are lifted) like the two songs in Josh, yaadein kitni yaadein from angaraay, yeh kaali kaali annkhen are amazing work and even tho he may not deserve credit for originality, he mixed some amazing songs

      • Sewa Bahra says:

Hi there, I am also biggest fan of one and only “Anu malik” also called Melody King ever since I seen his movie Insaniyat Ke Dushman. I had all of his fim music cassettes and now have started collecting his film audio CD’s and apart from around 30 CD’s I have managed to collect all of his film music CD’s.
Just to let you know guys!!!! I only listen …… and only Anu Malik.

He is the only musician who’s all songs in the the album are listenable and instant hit. Just pick any of his film music and listen to it and rant it . be honest to yourself. unlike with other musician who can only manage to make one or most 2 hit song in their album and rest is pure rubbish.
We should be so greatfull to god that he has given us such a talented musician.
However, it is tragic that Bollywood film industry doesn’t appriciate while the person is alive and they don’t stop cashing in after their death.
You can see the evidence how many music CD’s are being lauched after Kishore Kumar, RD Burman,Rafi, Mukesh etc and now there are for Shammi Kapoor, Dev Anand and will soon be for Rajesh Khanna.

This is the same ungreatfull industry to whom they have given so much but no apprpciation and now they all are bush thinking how to make the most of their death. There are so many film music by Anu Malik has not been released on CD’s and some of film music is not even released at all. For example…. Gayak and Prem Dharam.
Very sad…. I hope film industry wake up and acknowledge the talent and allow them to churn more of the quality work.
Listen to the music of …. Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai…. doesn’t this put shame to useless so called Pritam.
Didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feeling and apologise if someone felt this way.
